About

Welcome to LESSONing the Load’s website.

My name’s Alli, and I’m an experienced teacher and personal tutor with a valid DBS certificate who lives in the North East of England. I’ve been a subject leader and examiner and have worked in sixth form and FE colleges and also a secondary school. However, I now work privately as an online tutor, teaching one-to-one and also running small group sessions and webinars for maths, statistics, English and psychology.

I started tutoring GCSE Maths whilst at university in the 1990s and before I began my teaching career as a lecturer of psychology. My passion for teaching quickly led me into the sixth form sector. Here, I completed my PGCE and, after a few years, took the opportunity to become an examiner. In 2015, after almost seventeen years as a classroom teacher, I made the decision to set up LESSONing the Load and have never looked back. In its early days, the business offered tuition sessions in maths, English and psychology to students in their own homes. However, LESSONing the Load has grown at a rate I could never have predicted and, keen to meet demands, has now evolved into an online service provider where students can have one-to-one tuition or take part in webinars with an experienced teacher no matter where they live.
